Additions and Renovations to Austin American-Statesman

305 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX

Our firm is served as the Structural Engineer of Record for Austin American- Statesman production expansion project at 305 South Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas.  A 66,266 square foot tilt-up concrete addition was designed which houses the new mail room, offices, break room, conference room, and loading dock area. Tilt-up concrete wall panels for this project are load-bearing composite insulated panels.

29,629 square feet of the facility was renovated including a maintenance shop area and single copy loading docks, while the former mail room was remodeled into office space.

The Austin American-Statesman remained fully operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the entire construction process.

Project was awarded a 2008 “Outstanding Construction Award” in the “Industrial/Warehouse over $5 million” category from the Central Texas Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
