Vice President + Principal Structural Engineer
Steve began a lifelong career with SMF in 2001 working as a courier during college summer breaks. After graduating, he progressed from EIT to PE under the guidance of the SMF engineering team. He remained with the firm, tackling engineering challenges with creative problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking. In 2016 Steve was promoted to principal, which was followed by him joining our senior leadership team in 2022 as vice president.
Steve spearheads the firm's most complex projects at the design development phase to lay out vital strategic plans. His experience encompasses a comprehensive array of market segments with proficiency in structural design of schools, higher education, community facilities, and more. He designs for LEED certification and projects with sustainable design elements. As a leader and mentor, Steve works closely with EIT's and project managers to encourage creative thinking and strong collaboration skills in all team members.
Steve remains committed to constantly raising the bar across the firm, from design to responsiveness to client needs. He continues to lead the push towards innovation and design at the highest level.
