What drew you to structural engineering?

Andrew shared that his fascination with structural engineering stems from his passion to build enduring creations. Reflecting on his childhood experiences of constructing forts amidst nature, Andrew's drive lies in crafting structures that stand the test of time.

Internship goals

Andrew's primary objective during his internship is to immerse himself within our team at SMF, all while acquiring invaluable field experience and enhancing his proficiency in structural analysis and design.

Recent coursework or achievements

Andrew takes immense pride in his continued progress in academia and the wealth of knowledge he has gained in structural engineering during his initial weeks here at SMF.

In his leisure time, Andrew finds solace in activities such as fishing and nature walks. His feline companion, Emma, adds warmth and color to his everyday life. A graduate-to-be from Old Dominion University 2025, this Landstown HS grad returns to VB for this summer internship.

What drew you to structural engineering?

Landon's affinity for structural engineering sprung from a deep-rooted proficiency in mathematics and physics, coupled with an inherent inclination toward building since his early years.

Internship goals

Driven by a thirst for knowledge, Landon's aspiration during his internship is to absorb as much information as possible, further fueling his passion for a career in structural engineering.

Recent coursework or achievements

A noteworthy achievement for Landon includes his team's triumph in a competition involving the 3D printing of a bridge, surpassing the challenge of holding a specific weight without over-engineering it.

In his free time, Landon finds joy in activities such as surfing, working out, camping, and engaging in sports like football, basketball, and bowling. Landon has been an avid track runner since 6th grade. A VB local and Kellam HS graduate, he continues toward graduation from Virginia Tech in 2025.

We are thrilled to have such bright and dedicated students as part of our team. Their eagerness to learn and contribute is inspiring. We look forward to presenting them with opportunities to grow and learn as they embark on this exciting chapter in their career journeys.
