Long Bay Pointe Boating Resort
Long Bay Pointe has become a huge tourist attraction. It provides space for restaurants, boat slips, and a seafood marketplace.
Served as Structural Engineer of Record and Special Inspector for this multi-million-dollar facility, called Long Bay Pointe Boating Resort. The resort consists of 215 new wet slips, Inlet Fitness Club, a seafood marketplace, restaurants, retail shops, a tackle shop, and 9 dock pavilions. The construction consists of piles and grade beams with prestressed concrete floor slabs. The first floor of each of the three major buildings will be constructed of precast concrete planks. The structures are wood and steel framed with exposed wood trusses utilizing many architectural details. Designing for high wind exposure and special care for the preservation of the historic waterfront area was essential.
