Luter Family YMCA Additions & Renovations
Expansion and a new look for the YMCA to meet the needs of the surrounding community.
The increased demand placed on the previous facility necessitated the expansion and presented an opportunity to tie in the look of the building with the residential neighborhood that had since developed around it. This phase of the project included two single-story additions to an existing facility totaling 4,659 square feet. The additions are brick and glass structures and include space for a wellness center expansion, a child watch expansion, a new girl's locker room, new boy’s locker room, new group exercise studio, a new entrance vestibule, and courtyard, additional parking at the rear of the building (35-40 cars), associated site-work, and landscape and hardscape improvements. A new 25-meter pool with sunken spa, wellness area, teen room and locker/shower facility was also included within the addition. Renovation of the existing gymnasium and administration to connect the new spaces created a transformed modern facility, doubling the membership instantly. Work was completed in 2012 at a cost of $1,189,629.
