Replacement of Boat Ramp West of Pier 34
This waterfront project at JEB Little Creek in Norfolk, Virginia was issued as a task order under a NAVFAC MidAtlantic A/E IQC contract on which Speight Marshall Francis served as prime designer.
Designed a 26,000 sf pile-supported reinforced concrete boat ramp west of Pier 34, an 18,600 sf reinforced concrete approach slab, a fixed/floating finger pier, new lighting & power for the pier, and the replacement of approximately 350 feet of shoreline bulkhead. This facility is used to launch and retrieve a variety of trailerable vessels up to 81 feet long.
