W.M. Jordan Company Hangar
At Speight Marshall Francis, we had the privilege of collaborating with the W.M. Jordan Company to design and construct their new corporate hangar at the Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport. This project exemplifies our commitment to delivering innovative, practical engineering solutions that prioritize both functionality and aesthetics.
Spanning over 14,300 square feet, this meticulously designed hangar has been thoughtfully crafted to accommodate not one, but two aircraft. In addition to this ample space, we have allocated an additional 2,151 square feet to house pilot offices, conference facilities, a kitchenette, and shop areas. By optimizing the design, we have successfully met the stringent National Fire Protection Association requirements, while also maximizing the available square footage to ensure optimal efficiency.
Adding a touch of aviation history to the hangar's ambiance is its lobby, which showcases a captivating mural depicting the iconic Wright Brothers' first flight. This mural pays homage to the original artwork that graced the wall of the Williamston, North Carolina post office on Main Street, back in 1940. This unique nod to aviation history not only adds a distinct character to the space but also serves as a source of inspiration for all who enter.
Our collaboration with the W.M. Jordan Company in creating this corporate hangar showcases our commitment to collaboration, innovation, and delivering practical, efficient solutions. The attention to detail, adherence to industry standards, and the incorporation of historical elements within the design exemplify our overarching goal of ensuring client satisfaction and creating spaces that are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
